Review Of Motorola Karma QA1 – AT&T – A Square Shaped Messaging Phone

thumbnail
Motorola Karma QA1 is a square phone which looks quite a lot like Verizon Wireless Blitz and Cricket TXTM8. The three phones look a lot similar but we will say that when it comes to features and quality, this Motorola phone wins. It looks quite simple and basic phone but Motorola has known the surprise us with great packages inside. This phone has features like HTML browser for the internet and access to applications of social networking which makes better than other messaging phones. The display of the Motorola Karma is tiny 2.5 inch. This phone is a strict no-no for multi media enthusiasts who prefer bigger screen for watching videos. The display has resolution of 240X320 and 262,000 colors which is quite good for a small screen like this. Images look crisp and the display is clear with the clear font and big icons. You can change display theme, wallpaper, the "skin”, screensaver and the greeting text. You cannot change the brightness or the backlight time. There are lots of wallpapers,  [...]

Samsung Solstice SGH-A887 Cell Phone Review

thumbnail
We know Samsung is capable of making good phones, it has been there in the phone market for quite a while and we are now relying on it to make good phones for us. So let’s see if this phone can live up to the expectations or not. The display of the Samsung Solstice is three inch big which is what most phones in this class deliver. The screen will give you support for 262,000 colors and resolution of 400X240 pixels. Display is crisp and you can see the icons on the screen quite clearly. Samsung Solstice screen is responsive while you are selecting icons or scrolling through the lists. The screen gives haptic feedback, which means the device will vibrate when you touch icons to show that it has registered a touch. You can increase or decrease the intensity of this vibration. Other than this you can change the display’s wallpaper, brightness, backlight time, greeting message  [...]

LG Neon – A Semi-Touch Screen Cell Phone Review

thumbnail
LG Neon is a semi-touch screen phone where the touch screen interface can be used only for dialing numbers on the phone. If you try touch screen for any other application, it will pretend as if it doesn’t exist at all. We were quite confused as to why the touch screen feature has been put in the phone, if it is to be used for just one feature? We don’t understand this and you won’t so stop scratching your heads and let’s get along with other features of the phone. The display of the phone is 2.4 inch long which is quite tiny as compared to the 3.5 inch screen of the Apple’s iPod. The display is sharp, images look great on the phone and the text is legible as well. The resolution is 240 x 320 pixels which is not bad by the standards of 2.4 inch screen. You can change the backlight time, the font size of the menu text and the dialing digits, the brightness, the menu styles, and the appearance of the clock on the home screen. You  [...]

Samsung SPH-M330 Review

thumbnail
The phone is made for basic functions and will do nothing else. It disappoints even in basic functions like camera and display. The display of the camera is a small two inch and the resolution is awfully low at just 160x120. But this phone is a basic device and you cannot use this phone for web browsing so there is not much to complain. However, a little bigger resolution would have been better. In the display, you can change brightness, backlighting time, dialing font size, screensavers, greetings and design schemes. Below the display are two soft buttons, talk, end buttons, back and dedicated speaker phone button. We liked the buttons of talk and end had words on them rather than the receiver symbol which commonly used. The buttons are also colored green and red. Along with these buttons there is a four way navigational button with an OK button in the center. The phone slides upwards to reveal a 12 key numeric keypad. Buttons both  [...]

Review Of Sony Ericsson Equinox TM717

thumbnail
Sony Ericcson is one of the best players in mobile phones market. They have been around for awhile and now we can rely on them to make quality products. Sony Ericsson Equinox TM717 landed in our test centers; it is a shiny black clamshell model phone. Being flap, it has two displays, one of them being on the lid of the phone. We weren’t quite happy with the external display of the phone because it doesn’t give photo caller ID. The external display gives you time(we wanted date also), battery, signal strength and caller ID. We think Sony Ericsson could have exploited the presence external display more. Inside the phone is a 2.25 inch display which gives you 320X240 pixel resolution. Screen of size 2.5 inch are known to have such resolution display and we were quite happy with the space in the screen. The screen has 262000 (18-bit) colors. You can personalize the display with wallpapers, display themes, screen savers and tones for messages,  [...]

Review Of Samsung Mythic SGH-A897 Cell Phone

thumbnail
Samsung is back with Mythic SGH-A897 and it is a good and attractive looking phone, but we must say that it looks quite a lot like the other Samsung phones. The display of the phone is 3.3 inch big and supports 262,000 colors. It gives you resolution of 360X640 pixels which is excellent for this size of display. The display looks sharp and the videos on this phone also look good. The phone has three home screens, just like iPhone, where you can store the shortcuts to your most used applications. You can scroll the pages one after the other, all you have to do is flip your finger through the touch screen. These short cut menus let you store the applications on the desktop so that you don’t have to go digging inside to find the applications. You cannot delete some application icons like browser or the music player. But you can remove applications like calendar and alarm and add buttons of your own. The touch screen of the phone is responsive  [...]

Samsung Behold II Cell Phone Review

thumbnail
Samsung Behold II is successor to Samsung Behold and we don’t what is in the phone to behold. The phone is definitely not attractive looking. Maybe Samsung thought that the internal features might make us hold our breath. The Samsung phone has AMOLED touch screen which is pretty amazing than standard TFT LCD screens. The main advantage that you get from the AMOLED screen is that image is much clearer. When the two screens are held in sunlight, AMOLED will give you a brighter picture where as TFT LCD will be overwhelmed by the shinny sunlight and you won’t be able to see the objects on the screen properly. If you see a TFT LCD screen from the side, the picture will not be as clear as seen from the front. AMOLED screen is clear from all the sides, including the view from the top. Other advantages include darker blacks, brighter image, etc. Below the screen is a cluster of buttons and it  [...]

Review Of RIM BlackBerry Storm 2

thumbnail
The display of the phone is 3.2 inch big, which is quite large. It accommodates lot of icons and gives a lot of work space on the display. The big screen is well complimented by the 480X360 resolution. The display has proximity sensor, which the RIM calls face detector, and will lock the screen when you place it close to your ear to prevent accidental touches. The phone also has an accelerometer which changes the display from vertical to horizontal when you place the phone sideways. The phone doesn’t have a numeric keypad and neither does it have a slide out QWERTY key pad(which is the reason behind the thin look). So the virtual touch screen is all you get. Now the touch screen QWERTY keyboard has its own set of issues and you will need some time to get used to this keyboard. RIM has improved its SurePress interface and it shows in the keyboard. If you want to type in capital you can press the shift key and the letter key at the same  [...]

Review Of Pantech Reveal – Blue

thumbnail
Pantech Reveal has two keyboards, a normal numeric keypad below the screen and beneath the phone there is a slider QWERTY keyboard. Now, we don’t know why there are two keyboards. The numeric keyboard could have been sacrificed to give way for larger screen size. But a smaller screen means that if you want to read text on this gadget there will be lots of scrolling. The phone is 3.9 inch long, 2.36 inch wide and 0.59 inch thick, it weighs 4.66 ounces. The phone is curved on the ends, looks cute. The phone’s display is 2.2 inch which is really small. Smart phones are known to have 3 inch display screen size. The display is good and you can see it clearly even in sunlight, something that we don’t see much in mobile phone screen. The screen has a display resolution of 320X240 and has 262,000 colors. In the display you can adjust the brightness, the font style, the backlight timer, the menu type, the color theme and you can customize the home  [...]

Review Of Nokia N86 Cell Phone

thumbnail
Nokia says that the N86 camera is so good that you won’t need a separate digital camera for your photos and this one is as good as a digital cam. We tested the phone for the camera and we must say that we agree with Nokia. So let’s get down to business with the main selling point of the phone, the camera. We won’t say that N86 has the highest mega pixel camera in the market. Samsung Memoir has 8 mega pixel and Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot C905 has 8.1 mega pixel camera. But the results that this camera gave were quite impressive. The camera has lens cover over it which says “Carl Zeiss” and you have to slide it down to open the camera. The phone has 20x digital zoom and the video shooting can be done up to 30 frames per second. The phone has advanced editing options like N85 like eight shooting modes, sequence shots, ISO settings, and red-eye reduction, and includes some new tricks like panorama mode, variable aperture (F2.4, F3.2, F4.8), and a 28-millimeter wide-angle lens.  [...]
