Sony Ericsson Aino – Great Camera And Music Quality But Expensive

thumbnail
We caught ourselves drooling at the phone when it arrived at our test centers. It doesn’t have any keys below the display and this makes it look very sleek. We thought this was a touch screen phone but then we were disappointed with two things, firstly the touch screen feature is there but it can be only used for multi media and secondly the phone has a slide out numeric keypad at the bottom of the screen which makes the phone a bit thick. But we won’t forgive Sony for not making this all touch screen interface. If there is hardware in place why not use it for all applications? The phone has gorgeous 3.0 inch display which has a resolution of 432x240 pixels and supports 16.7 million colors. The display is quite vibrant and the text, photographs and videos are all very good on this screen. The phone has touch screen interface but it is reserved only for the phone’s 3D media browser. Touching the phone and flicking through the capacitive touch screen is smooth. When you open the  [...]

Samsung SGH-T239 – A No Fuss Simple Basic Phone

thumbnail
We do not blame Samsung for making such smart phones, after all not everyone out there is a gizmo gadget freak. Some people don’t use phone for anything but call and text messaging. This phone is aimed at such users but the design of the phone could have been a bit more attractive. The 2.8 inch size of the Samsung SGH-T239 is a bit big for an entry level phone (but we are not complaining) which gives you a resolution of 220x176 pixels and supports 262,000 colors. The display is good and the text on it is easy to read thanks to the bright LCD. You can change the look of the menu from grid to list and you can also change the dialing font, color and backlight time. The screen is LCD which means you will struggle to see it in bright sunlight. But you can’t expect an AMOLED screen in such phones, can you? You can change the message greeting message, tones and wallpaper in the display. Below  [...]

Samsung Omnia II- Superb Multimedia Phone With A Huge AMOLED Screen

thumbnail
Samsung Omnia was a super hit in the mobile phone market and Samsung are back again to cash in on the device. They have announced Omnia II and it has the same appeal as the previous version, it has been revamped in quite a lot of areas to make it a better phone. The big screen that the phone had in Omnia is even bigger this time, it is a 3.7 inch WVGA screen which means better videos and better photograph viewing. The high end multi media phone screen is AMOLED based, which is a better performer than the standard LCD screens that you get in normal mobile phones. The resolution of 800x480 pixels promises more real estate area on the screen while typing and for work related applications. The built in accelerometer sweetens the deal as it changes the display from portrait to landscape when you hold the phone on its sides. The accelerometer is not available for all applications but it is there when you need it the  [...]

Nokia 7610 Supernova Cell Phone Review – Great Music Phone

thumbnail
Nokia came out with 7610 couple of years ago and we thought this was the same model with some hard ware upgrade. But it looks nothing like it and the features inside too are quite different. We don’t know why Nokia has repeated a model number maybe it is because 7610 was a hot property in those days and Nokia wants to recreate the magic again. The display of the Nokia 7610 Supernova is two inch big and gives a resolution of 320x240 pixels. Two inch display is definitely small and icons and picture look small. But they are bright and clear. The big resolution also makes up for the small display. The display has 16.7 million colors. A 2.5 inch display would have been better for this phone since there is a WAP browser and browsing is better on a bigger screen. You can change the color and the font size in the display of the Nokia 7610 Supernova. You can also change the wallpaper, screen savers, animations and  [...]

Review Of T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Cell Phone

thumbnail
The T-Mobile MyTouch 3G is very pretty looking and the big screen really rocks! T-Mobile’s first Android phone was G1 and we now have the T-Mobile MyTouch 3G after about ten months of wait. The phone has been worked hard upon and it really shows on the features side. The T-Mobile MyTouch 3G is nothing like its predecessor, the G1 was like a square box and bit clunky, where as this phone is a bit more thin and you get color options of black white and merlot. We got the white version for test in our centers. The phone has a ‘chin’ in the bottom just like some Android phones have been known to have and this might give you an itch in the pocket. But it is sure to fit in the tightest of jeans. The T-Mobile MyTouch 3G is 4.65 inches tall, 0.65 inch deep, 2.19 inch wide and weighs 4.09 ounces. The T-Mobile MyTouch 3G has a big 3.2 inch touch screen and it is the best part of the phone. You seldom get to see this big screen in phones (except the iPhone which has a 3.5 inch screen)  [...]

Review Of Samsung SGH-T659 Cell Phone

thumbnail
The Samsung SGH-T659 has old looks but the features, though few, are pretty up to date. This is a basic phone, it is not made for your gizmo gadget freak but it serves well for the functions it is offering. The display of the Samsung SGH-T659 is 2.5 inch big and will give you a resolution of 320x240 pixels. The screen has 262,000 colors, the icons and the text is good and clear. In the display you can change brightness, font size, color, type and backlighting time. A lower backlight gives you larger battery life. The phone is slider material and it is quite sturdy and strong. It was also comfortable to hold in the hand. You can also change the alert tones, wallpapers and colors of background. Below the display there is a structure of buttons which will again remind you of the old days. There are two soft buttons, the call and call end buttons and the middle OK button that is surrounded by the four way navigation circle. The keypad will  [...]

Review Of Nokia 5130 XpressMusic- Great For Music But Low On Other Features

thumbnail
Once features of the phone started increasing people have began to use it as a device which can click photos, play music, etc. It then became economical to use a phone which has all such features rather than get a separate phone, camera and music player. Now people are getting serious and buying such mobile phones and hence manufacturers are also taking advantage of this. Once it became clear that a mobile phone could replace a PMP, people started to show more interest and this makes companies like Nokia bring out such phones which are great music players as well. Now 5130 XpressMusic from Nokia has been aimed at music enthusiasts, this will be clear for the name itself. And though the phone is low on other features you get a good phone and a great music player. The other plus side is that not much hardware has been put in for other features except the music player so the cost of the phone has been  [...]

Review Of Nokia 2680- A Basic Phone For Calling And Text Messaging

thumbnail
We all know that the 2XXX family is quite old in Nokia phones. When saw the Nokia 2680 lying on our desks for review we quickly made out that it would be a basic phone just by the numbers ‘2680’ on the box. We, as gadget enthusiasts don’t have much to write about this phone because there is not much in there. The Nokia 2680 is made for people who don’t call much and use the phone to text messages occasionally. The screen of the Nokia 2680 is 1 inch big TFT LCD display and it is seriously small. We frown even at 2 screens and we seldom come across such tiny displays. The resolution is 128X160 which is also low. But with this screen you can’t ask for a bigger resolution. But you will get an idea about how small the screen is when we say that the phone could house only two icons at a time in the messaging menu. On the home screen you can change themes, you can adjust the size and color of the font and you can change the wallpaper. Below the display is a tidy arrangement  [...]
