Motorola Milestone XT720 – with eight MP camera

thumbnail
Motorola Milestone XT720 is the latest cell phone from this company and the internal specs are really impressive. The slider keyboard interface is dumped to give the phone a sleeker design and plenty of other improvements like an awesome eight megapixel camera which supports HD video recording. The feature set is really good but the performance is not as fast as some of the fastest Android devices out there. So if you yearn for plenty of power, I would recommend you to go for something like the Motorola Droid X. I got the unlocked version of this phone in my labs for reviewing, the cost of the unlocked handset is $460 and it was given to me by eXpansys USA. However, Cincinnati Bell announced a few days ago that they would be covering this phone for $199.99. Motorola Milestone XT720 looks really sleek but it is a bit odd for smartphone. The handset is 4.53 inches tall, 0.43 inch thick, 2.39 inches wide and weighs around 5.6 ounces. The design, just like other touch screen  [...]

Motorola i576 – Basic phone with rugged design

thumbnail
Motorola i576 is a phone from Nextel and it doesn’t have anything out of the box regarding design or features. But there is hardly anything to complain about that since most Nextel phones have industrial and functional design and they are made mostly for durability and usablity instead of sex appeal. There have been occasional exceptions but Nextel has stuck to this rule for most phones. These handsets are made mostly for business. This handset has rugged design just like its predecessors and along with it, the phone has small external display, extendable antenna, and rubber sidings. The feature set on the device is pretty much basic, you don’t even get a camera but if you are looking for a sturdy phone with decent performance, the Motorola i576 won’t disappoint you. The phone costs $279 and with the service agreement, it comes down to $79. Motorola i576 has a tiny rectangular external display just like most Nextel phones. There is a lot of information crammed on to the small display;  [...]

thumbnail
The Motorola Tundra VA76r is a rugged phone for AT&T. It features support for push-to-talk (PTT) services, good call quality, 3G support, and multimedia highlights. It looks like a Nextel phone. The Tundra costs $199 with service agreement and you can also get its unlocked version for $399. It is certified with military specifications to withstand vibration, shock, rain, and so forth. The Tundra VA76r has an external antenna that is not extendable. It is one of the Motorola phones that have CrystalTalk Plus with a speakerphone on rear side for improving call quality. This technology also cancels the background noise that makes to hear even in noisy environment. The external controls and edges are covered with rubber. On the contrary, the VA76r phone also suffers some issues including poor video streaming and mediocre captured picture quality. It is noteworthy that the Tundra cell phone is compatible with T3 and M3 hearing aids. The small external color display shows signal strength,  [...]

Motorola Renew W233 – green gadget with more battery life

thumbnail
The Motorola Renew W233 is made up completely with recycled plastics from water bottles and its packaging is 100% built using recycled material. The packaging box is 22% smaller than usual cell phone box and does not have any fancy graphics. The Renew W233 is much better than Nokia 3110 that is made up from 50% recycled plastic. The Motorola is also promising nine hours talk time and less energy consumption. It costs $9.99 with T-Mobile service contract and offers decent call quality using CrystalTalk feature. However, it has few features and low-resolution display. The Renew W233 also lacks dedicated volume rocker and does not offer photo caller ID. The plastic casing gives solid feeling while taking in hand. However, the W233 is not a cell phone for danger-prone. Its color scheme looks perfect for its Earth-friendly image. 1.44 inches display has 128×128 pixels resolution that supports 65,000 colors. It is not enough sharp and exhibits muted hues  [...]

Motorola Backflip review – entry level phone with a 5 MP camera!

thumbnail
Motorola Backflip comes with a 3.1 inch HVGA display and gives a resolution of 320x480 pixels. The display isn’t sharp or vibrant as compared to other phones like Nexus One or Motorola Droid. The screen is also a bit small which makes a difficult to view Web pages and e-mails. You cannot ‘pinch’ the screen to zoom in and out of photos but you can double tap to zoom in at a point. The built in accelerometer doesn’t work in all applications but its there when you need it for apps like maps and browser. You get a better picture in the landscape mode. It is good to have an accelerometer but the lag is frustrating. Behind the display, you get a Backtrack navigation pad which is used to scroll through your photos, home screens and applications. All you need to do is scroll your finger through the pad. Motorola said that this hardware is put there in order to give you an unobstructed view of the screen. We can’t say swiping finger on the screen  [...]

Motorola Cliq XT – revamped Cliq with excellent features

thumbnail
Motorola had announced to launch its Cliq XT – smartphone at Mobile World Congress 2010. This smartphone will be the fifth Android phone in the U.S. for both Motorola and T-Mobile. At first look, the XT looks revamped Motorola Cliq. However, it offers sleeker design, improved onscreen keyboard by Swype, connected and full-featured media player and much better performance than Backflip. Motorola Cliq XT has two drawbacks: one is small screen size and next it runs on Google Android 1.5. Obviously, the Cliq XT is better alternative for users who can manage working on onscreen keyboard and need much sleeker smartphone than others. T-Mobile has not yet released any pricing information, but supposed to show off the pricing details in this month. 3.1 inches capacitive touch-screen LCD display of Motorola Cliq XT has HVGA resolution of 320×480 pixels. It is quite similar to that of the Backflip and the Cliq. The LCD is clear and bright sufficiently,  [...]

National Geographic Motorola Razr V3 – Low international calling rates

thumbnail
National Geographic seems like a good theme for selling travel oriented phones. Cellular Abroad is its service partner, which is running on leased spaces from AT&T. The organization has selected the Motorola Razr V3 as the handset. As an alternate, you can purchase a National Geographic SIM card for $69 and use it in your own choice of GSM cell phone. We agree that Motorola Razr V3 continues to be a good seller even four and half years after original Razr model. The Razr V3 has VGA camera, few extra features and latest design. The other choice is Motorola C1389, which is a basic phone. National Geographic is appealing the budget-minded users who need an affordable and basic phone. On the bright side, Motorola Razr V3 is also being sold unlocked for $199 without any contract. National Geographic Motorola Razr V3 has small external display located on the lid. It has a resolution of 96×80 pixels. You can flip open the phone to access the  [...]

T-Mobile Sidekick LX – A smart phone for the youth

thumbnail
This handset has a 3.2 inch WVGA display which gives a resolution of 854x480 pixels. The big resolution is great for watching movies, browsing the web and other phone activities. A big resolution exploits the big size of the screen to the fullest and we had no complaints with the display of this handset. The quality of the display too is good, it is sharp and bright and we had a great time watching videos on the handset. You can change the font size and the background on your Sidekick LX. The user interface isn’t changed much from its predecessor. You have shortcuts for media player, communities, T-Mobile MyFaves, Web browser, and e-mail. There is also a Quick find function on the handset. The navigation controls too are the same as the previous mode. On the left there are Jump and Menu buttons and direction keypad which is also the phone’s speaker. On the other side, there is trackball navigator, OK button, Talk and End keys and Cancel button.  [...]

Review Of Motorola Karma QA1 – AT&T – A Square Shaped Messaging Phone

thumbnail
Motorola Karma QA1 is a square phone which looks quite a lot like Verizon Wireless Blitz and Cricket TXTM8. The three phones look a lot similar but we will say that when it comes to features and quality, this Motorola phone wins. It looks quite simple and basic phone but Motorola has known the surprise us with great packages inside. This phone has features like HTML browser for the internet and access to applications of social networking which makes better than other messaging phones. The display of the Motorola Karma is tiny 2.5 inch. This phone is a strict no-no for multi media enthusiasts who prefer bigger screen for watching videos. The display has resolution of 240X320 and 262,000 colors which is quite good for a small screen like this. Images look crisp and the display is clear with the clear font and big icons. You can change display theme, wallpaper, the "skin”, screensaver and the greeting text. You cannot change the brightness or the backlight time. There are lots of wallpapers,  [...]
