Samsung Repp is an Android smartphone that has all the basics you would expect in an Android 2.3 Gingerbread handset along with great price. It offers large 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen display, 800MHz processor and a decent set of features for free price, but it is worth shopping around for other United States Cellular deals. The large, colorful touchscreen display responds smoothly to every stroke of your finger and provides superior viewing for all your activities and functions. It’s a great size for viewing, but not that large to fit easily in your purse or pocket.

The Samsung Repp for United States Cellular hits the adage on the head. It is a perfect free smartphone with Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and is best suited for those who won’t pick their handset apart with critical eyes. The Repp is quite small with 3.2 megapixel camera that takes decent outdoor images and 3.2 inch touchscreen display. You will find 2GB microSD memory card installed. The Repp is available for the price of $139.99 with two-year contract. Here is another trend in cellphone design: the more basic the features, the splashier the paint job. It has appealing berry shade that rings back cover and face, where it is slightly dimpled. The bottom and top and flat, wide spines are matte silver color, while the Home button on its face has brushed black finish, which makes it look a cut above shiny plastic buttons.

One of the interesting features of Repp is its Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system that offers five home screens on the handset along with usual vertical scrolling in the application tray, which you get with unadulterated Android. Underneath the screen, you will find three navigation buttons: physical button, which serves for Select and Home and touch sensitive back and menu buttons.

The microSD memory card slot and power button is located on the right hand side of Samsung Repp, while the 3.5mm headphone jack on the top. The volume rocker button is situated on the left hand side of smartphone, while the microUSB charging port at the bottom. The 3.2 megapixel camera is at the back. The Android Gingerbread OS offers sense of familiarity and unity along with assurance that the handset will be equipped with array of social networking and email options, Wi-Fi, multimedia and text messaging, GPS and Bluetooth.

The Samsung Repp allows you to access over 300,000 downloadable applications in Android Market for complementing fundamental programs including clock, music player, calendar, browser and calculator. Some of the Google services include usual Maps with turn by turn voice navigation, YouTube, search, Places and Books. Other applications get you started as well though these number fewer as compared to other Android smartphones. But you will find link to app store of Amazon and Amazon.com, a Gameloft sponsored link for games compatible with Repp along with Audible.com to procure audio content like books. There is also Daily Perks and CityID, United States Cellular’s daily deals application, Uno game demo, contacts backup, ringtone applications and Think Free Office.

The Samsung Repp features a 3.2 megapixel camera with no flash and no autofocus, but images come out really good. Standard features on Repp include 2G Network: CDMA 800 / 1900; 3G Network: CDMA2000 1xEV-DO; 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 320 x 480 pixels; Touch-sensitive controls; Vibration; MP3, WAV ringtones; microSD, up to 32GB, 2 GB included; Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot; 3.15 MP, 2048×1536 pixels; Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread); CPU: 800 MHz; Accelerometer, proximity, compass; SMS(threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Mail, IM; SNS integration; MP4/WMV/H.264/H.263 player; MP3/WAV/WMA/eAAC+ player; Organizer; Image/video editor; Document viewer; Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa integration; Voice memo/dial; Predictive text input.

Samsung Focus S is the best Windows Phone available with smooth performance, large, gorgeous touchscreen, good eight-megapixel camera, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, HSPA+ speeds, light and thin design, loudspeaker, engaging interface and great gaming and music experience. Offering a powerful, premium Windows Mobile smartphone experience in pocket friendly design, the Focus S is motivated by most recent Windows Phone 7.5 operating system that boasts plenty of enhancements such as multitasking, threaded conversations, which move with you from text to Facebook and back again and video and photo capture. At just 8.5mm at its slimmest, it is the thinnest 4G Windows Phone device. In addition, the Focus S comes with 4.3 inch Super AMOLED multitouch screen that offers richer and deeper colors, blacker blacks along with superior views from any angle.

The Samsung Focus S is basically a slate smartphone and a successor to one of the best selling Windows Phone called Samsung Focus revealed in the month of November 2011 in United States. At present, Focus S is offered exclusively through AT&T. It is only about 8.5mm at its slimmest point that makes it beautiful, stylish and pretty easy to slip into tightest jeans pocket. With its eight-megapixel camera, you can not only take beautiful images and video, but also get into the act. Smile! Reinforced by strong hardware specifications and brilliant screen, it is arguably the best Windows Phone ever revealed.

The Windows Phone operating system has arrived on plenty of good smartphones, but none of the makers has yet been capable to design killer Windows Phone for United States market till now. The all new Samsung Focus S, a thin and light device launched by AT&T is a gorgeous handset with 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display, good eight-megapixel rear facing camera and front facing 1.3 megapixel camera. It is fundamentally the same shell like excellent Samsung Galaxy S II phone of AT&T, plus physical camera button and minus Android OS. The Focus S is available for the price of $199.99 with two-year service contract.

Open, classy and sleek are the three works that describe Samsung Focus S with flat sides and curved corners. As with Galaxy S II and Skyrocket phones of AT&T, it has little dimpled back cover with slight rise where cover snaps into place at the bottom. It measures 0.3 inch thick, 5 inches high, 2.6 inches wide and weighs 3.9 ounces. One of the extensive and exquisite features found in this model is the 4.3 Super AMOLED touchscreen that boasts 16 million colors and WVGA resolution of 800×480 pixels. As compared to other handsets, the colors are vivid and stand out from the display. Powering the Focus S is a Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system with simple interface, and is simply single start screen populated with dynamic live tiles. With this page, you can determine application and color order and unpin and pin tiles.

The Samsung Focus S’ 1.3 megapixel camera is located above the display, while the three touch sensitive buttons correspond to search, back and home. Holding and pressing the back button allows you to switch among tasks. The volume rocker button is located on the left hand side of the device, while the camera shutter and power button on the right. The micro USB charging port is at the bottom of the smartphone, while 3.5mm headphone jack on the top. Flip the phone over for locating the eight-megapixel camera with LED flash. As it is a Windows Phone, all memory is internal and doesn’t have microSD card slot for external memory.

Some of the most significant features on Samsung Focus S include 4G HSPA+ network, which is faster as compared to 3G network. Like all smartphones, it has built in Wi-Fi, multimedia messaging, GPS and Bluetooth. You get social networking and email integration through support for group messaging and account log-ins in settings, the option to link inboxes together. The address book is limited and there is capability to thread messages sent between conventional and IM texting in same thread with task switching support. Basic features include speakerphone, voice prompts for voice dialing and conference calling. Essentials are clock, calendar, calculator, Internet Explorer 9 with HTML5 support along with podcast subscriptions.

The AT&T has also added some of its own applications on Samsung Focus S such as QR code and bar code scanner, AT&T U-verse Mobile, AT&T Navigator with turn by turn directions, MyWireless and AT&T Radio. The company has added quite a few extras, including Photo Studio application with basic editing tools. Microsoft continues to win support by adding Music+Videos hub with Zune Pass and Zune integration along with excellent music mixing DJ features. The new Mango of Bing gets optical scan and search and music identification that works well on Focus S. without microSD memory card slot, the built in 16GB is the upper limit for local storage. Switching between video and camera mode is simple, as is accessing multiple settings for image resolution, white balance, ISO, photo effect sharpness, contrast and more.

Samsung Captivate Glide is an Android smartphone that offers high end specifications such as AT&T’s HSPA+ speeds, dual core processor, 8-megapixel camera, 1.3-megapixel front facing camera, 720p high definition video, 4.0 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display with QWERTY keyboard, enhanced speed with 1GHz dual core processor and 4G network, complete Google experience with Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, fast performance, great battery life and feels incredibly responsive. The Captivate Glide is also known as Samsung Galaxy S Glide in Canada, Samsung Gidim and Samsung i927 Galaxy S II. It is the first physical QWERTY Galaxy S class smartphone, which is powered by Android operating system.

The sleek exterior of Samsung Captivate Glide provides a premium feel and look, and every letter has its own key on sliding QWERTY keyboard. It makes typing for email; playing games, web surfing and posting updates easier and faster as compared to before. The full 1.0GHz dual core processor offers better and smoother video and movie playback. You will forget about buffering and can load images lightning fast. Once you experience the dual core speed, there is no going back to single core processing. 4G is up to 10 times quicker as compared to 3G; it is like the Autobahn of networks. The 4.0 inch Super AMOLED display offers brilliant detail, deep contrast and spectacular color, and is bright enough for reading easily in bright daylight, then automatically adjusts when indoors.

The Samsung Captivate Glide’s QWERTY keyboard and large display make it easy to quickly respond to texts and emails, draft documents and work on reports. Create Microsoft compatible documents, put together PowerPoint presentation out or in of the office and spreadsheets. Some of the business-friendly features include Exchange ActiveSync, Virtual Private Network and Quickoffice. It is one of the most powerful QWERTY handsets of AT&T and is available for the price of $150. The ultraflat keyboard might be difficult for most dedicated keyboard aficionados. The portfolio of 4G QWERTY smartphones of AT&T was looking fairly sleek before it added the Captivate Glide. It runs on HSPA+ 21 network of AT&T than 4G LTE network, which AT&T is rolling out.

Powering the Samsung Captivate Glide is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and is equipped with 4.0 inch Super AMOLED display, 720p high definition video, 1GHz Nvidia Tegra dual core processor, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and 8.0 megapixel rear facing camera. It is also affordable for $149.99. In order to keep the cost from climbing, Samsung had to compromise on build quality of the handset. It is an all black smartphone with straight sides, bottom and top and curved corners. The muted gray plastic band surrounds the periphery and there is a metal accent encircling camera lens at the back of the device.

The Samsung Captivate Glide fits right into family of Android driven Galaxy smartphones of the company; it measures 0.5 inch thick, 4.9 inches high and 2.5 inches wide. It looks slightly smaller as compared to Galaxy S II with nubbly, plastic backing and slideout keyboard of Exhibit II 4G. It is an unattracted handset and suffers from same impressions of cheap build quality, lightness and plasticky feel found on other Samsung handsets. Its Super AMOLED 4.0 inch touchscreen display boasts WVGA 800 x 480 pixel resolution with 16 million color support. The colors look saturated and bright, text is readable and edges look sharp and crisp.

The Samsung Captivate Glide is motivated by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system with TouchWiz typical user interface of Samsung. You will find 7 customizable home screens and rapidly zoom through. It also allows you to resize widgets, use pinch motion on home screens and access system settings from notification menu. Above the screen, there is a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for conference calling. Underneath it are four usual touch sensitive buttons to open menu, launch search, go home and go back functions. The power button is located on the right hand side of the smartphone, while the volume rocker on the left. The micro USB charging port and 3.5mm headphone jack is situated on the top of Captivate Glide, while the eight-megapixel camera with flash at the back. The microSD memory card slot is beneath the battery cover and takes up to 32GB of external storage.

As an Android 2.3 Gingerbread smartphone, the Samsung Captivate Glide excels at communication with support for multiple email accounts, including Gmail, Microsoft Exchange and other Web mail accounts in either combined or separate inboxes. There is multimedia and text messaging along with Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, GPS and hooks into plenty of social networks such as Samsung’s Facebook, Linked In and Twitter social hubs.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first smartphone with the most up-to-date Android 4.0 or Ice Scream Sandwich operating system and brings tons of very welcome and new features, sharp design, gorgeous screen and fantastic internal performance. The Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 brings a completely new feel and look to Android. Simple, bold layouts with delightful flourishes and subtle animations make everything feel alive. The web browser, home screen, email and everything in between has been redesigned and rethought for making Android beyond smart, simple and beautiful. Interact with your favorite applications right from home screen with new kinds of widgets. You can quickly switch between applications with dedicated recent applications button.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is a touchscreen slate Android smartphone produced and introduced for Google by Samsung. The operating system and handset were designed collaboratively by engineers from both firms. It is the 3rd generation successor to previous flagship handsets of Google; Nexus S and Nexus One. The Galaxy Nexus offers new design and comes with host of software and hardware upgrades including curved high definition Super AMOLED screen, enhanced camera system along with new version of Android operating system of Google called Ice Cream Sandwich. Before the official announcement of Galaxy Nexus, it was referred to as Google Nexus Prime amongst aficionados. It was revealed at Ice Cream Sandwich event of Samsung and Google in the month of October 2011.

Dozens of enhancements to touch recognition and auto correction make the Samsung Galaxy Nexus’ keyboard feel natural. The new line of spell checker allows you to rapidly edit misspelled words. Simply touch the microphone on keyboard and begin talking to write SMS, emails or other text with over 20 different languages support. The Ice Cream Sandwich is business ready, and makes it easy to take the Nexus to work. With support for loads of productivity enhancements, Microsoft Exchange, encryption, device management and VPNs, it is ready to work hard. It features a full featured camera with zero shutter lag, automatic focus and top notch low light performance.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is a large step forward for Android, and without Ice Cream Sandwich, it is just another Android handset. It is not just a cellphone, but is groundbreaking and will incite the occasional gasp of awe. The new features are welcome with pretty interface, but can also feel overly complicated, cluttered and disjointed. Set the operating system aside, and you get a familiar, attractive handset. The internal performance is excellent, and the call quality of T-Mobile is also on the par. The Galaxy Nexus measures 5.33 inches tall, 2.67 inches wide and 0.35 inch thick and weighs 4.76 ounces.

The lock/power control button is located on the right hand side of Samsung Galaxy Nexus, while the volume rocker button is on the left. At the bottom, you will find a micro USB charging/syncing port with 3.5mm headphone jack. The camera lens and flash are on the top end of back cover. It features a 4.65 inch capacitive and responsive touchscreen Super AMOLED display that boasts 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and is wonderfully vivid and bright with eye-popping colors. Everything looks great, from graphics to menu icons to images and it allows you to tailor five home screens with applications, Google search bar and menu icons. The ICS offers new widgets and folders, while the main menu displays conventional icons and internal menus have familiar list structure. It has elegant, clean design, which specifically shines in email and texting applications. It is dead simple for appending an attachment, images, audio and video. Bravo, Google.

Like all Nexus smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus features pure Android interface, which is not stained by carrier or manufacturer skin. It is great for developers and users alike, because it allows true glory of Android shine through. The screen is better as compared to its predecessors and allows you to change brightness, font size and backlight time. It gets built in accelerometer, light sensor and proximity sensor. You won’t find any physical controls at the front of the device; there is a glowing indicator lamp when you receive messages and call, notifications or email.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus’ phonebook is limited and there is room in each entry for multiple fields for phone numbers, street and email addresses, company title and name, instant messaging handle, birthday, nickname, notes and URL. Other features include multimedia and text messaging, weather and news application; email syncing, calendar syncing, alarm clock and calculator. Also onboard are Wi-Fi, file and download manager, Bluetooth, USB mass storage and PC syncing. You will find plethora of Google services and applications to explore and use; these include Google Talk, Google Messenger, YouTube, Google Maps with Navigation, Google Search with Voice, Google+, Google Latitude and Google Places.

The five-megapixel camera of Samsung Galaxy Nexus offers settings for digital zoom, four scene modes (party, action, sunset and night), face detection, seven exposure settings, location tagging and four white balance choices. Some of the editing tools on Nexus are cropping, sharpening, red eye reduction, flipping, face glow, rotating and straightening.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus also gets Practically unlimited entries and fields, Photocall; 16/32GB storage, 1 GB RAM; HSDPA speeds up to 21 Mbps and HSUPA speeds up to 5.76 Mbps with LTE; Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot; 5-megapixel camera with 2592×1936 pixels, autofocus, LED flash, Touch focus, geo-tagging and face detection; Android OS, v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich); Dual-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A9 CPU, TI OMAP 4460 chipset; SMS(threaded view), MMS, Email, Push Mail, IM, RSS; Stereo FM radio with RDS; GPS with A-GPS support, barometer sensor; NFC support; Digital compass; Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic; MP4/H.264/H.263 player.

As per the pictures surfacing, it’s clear that the Samsung Galaxy S II is coming to T-Mobile. But this isn’t the complete store, and even it’s not as simple as it sounds.

According to the industry insiders, the images of Samsung Galaxy S II that are surfacing over the internet are the images of a brand new offering from Samsung the “Samsung Hercules.” Now, you might be a tad confused, and hence let us clear the air for you. The Samsung Hercules is the forthcoming offering from Samsung, which will be available on both T-Mobile and Telus, and which as for now has been confirmed as a sure-enough variant of Galaxy S II.

The Samsung Hercules is similar to the original Superphone in many ways, but in addition the handset also has a tad bigger 4.5 in Super AMOLED Plus display just like the Infuse 4G, and at the same time it will also be having a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, which instead of Sammy’s very own Exynos, will probably be a Qualcomm processor and will also be a 42Mbps HSPA+ radio.

The curved corners on the rear end of the handset also appeared rather similar to the within — the GSII version which will be offered with Sprint. The full-frontals could be found after the break, which also recalls the design of the Nexus S. The only thing that is missing from here is any talk about of NFC, which actually features in the earlier rumors.

If the rumors are to be believed we are pretty excited about the handset, and on the basis of the specs rumored for the handset we will say that it sounds pretty decent handset and surely is worth considering.

If you remember the original Sidekick, you would have pleasant memories of its easy to flip open and close physical keyboard, its not so bulky body and its large screen (bigger than most of the Smartphone’s of its time). All these features made the Samsung’s first shot in the Smartphone revolution an instant hit. But a lot has changed over the past few years, and the successors of the original Sidekick have failed severely in coping up with its rival devices having modern apps and operating systems, and with touch screen displays rather than the conventional physical keyboards.

This all has made us think, whether the Sidekick makes a comeback or it’s just too late for a comeback? The good thing here is that at least Samsung thinks that the Sidekick can make a comeback, and that’s what the Samsung Sidekick 4G tells us all. The all new Samsung Sidekick 4G remains true to its heritage and bumps its specifications by including a set of upgraded specifications and including some vital entertainment.

The Samsung Sidekick 4G is an Android handset now, and suffers from some hardware and software flaws that make it look outdated and puts it several steps behind.

The silhouette of the new Sidekick 4G is the trademark Sidekick silhouette, having 2 buttons on both sides of the 3.5 in touch screen having native resolution of 480 x 800 resolution. The left side is graced by a Jump and Home button. There is a Menu and Back key situated on the right edge of the phone, with a little optical track button inserted in the middle.

If you are right handed, it will take you a bit to get use to this button placement. We really would have appreciated the placement of the Home button at the bottom right corner of the phone when its held in the landscape orientation, with the Back button at the rear above that and the Jump and Menu keys on the left side. We lost our thumbs quiet a number of times.

The Samsung Sidekick weighs almost as an iPhone 4, but it’s a tad longer than the iPhone and at the same time is 50 percent thicker. The Samsung Sidekick 4G easily fits in the pocket, but it is a bit chunky. The thickness of the handset can be credited to the physical keyboard under the screen. The screen of the Sidekick easily slides out using the “pop-tilt” mechanism, and brings out the sassy pink underside of the display after the handset is held at a comfortable viewing angle.

The power and the volume rocker of the phone are positioned a tad under where you have to place your thumb for pushing the display out. This results in a lot of unintentional adjustments in the volume because of the accidental button-pressing.

The QWERTY keyboard of the handset was also not all that comfortable, and we found the keys a tad uncomfortably spaced out.

If you are buying the Samsung Sidekick 4G especially for making calls, then let us tell you that the call quality is superb. The noise cancellation of the phone has been nicely implemented. The HSPA+ 4G speeds for the phone were generally good, and we didn’t face any sort of problems in that.

Overall, we would say that the Samsung Sidekick 4G offers a modern update to the conventional feel and look of the old Sidekick handsets, but that old design also causes some quirks for the phone in the form of software quirks. Seeing the current breed of Android handsets in the market it’s really tough to recommend the Samsung Sidekick 4G over other Android handsets in the market. Although, if you have been a Sidekick user previously or are a long time BlackBerry user then you will love the user experience of the Samsung Sidekick 4G, find out more about the handset.
