HTC Touch Pro (Sprint) review – high-end features, sluggish performance

thumbnail
The HTC Touch Pro has been described as “the sophisticated approach to business” by its carrier – Sprint. The smartphone really deserves this claim. It runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system and its HTC 3D TouchFlo interface is the main highlight. Not only this, but the Touch Pro also offers GPS, Wi-Fi, EV-DO Rev. support, memory card slot, full QWERTY keyboard, various business tools, and so forth. The Touch Pro costs $299.99 with two-year Sprint’s contract after rebates and including $25 or higher data plan. Like its predecessor HTC Touch Diamond, the Touch Pro has attractive silver trim, rounded edges, smoky mirrored face, and sleek appearance. However, there are also some drawbacks. The smartphone performs sluggish occasionally and it is more bulky than others in its price range. You will find any dedicated camera key and 3.5mm standard headset jack. Still, the HTC Touch Pro remains one of the best and most powerful smartphones for Sprint. What’s more – it is more compact  [...]

Pantech C630 review – basic look, better features

thumbnail
The Pantech has built the high-end cell phones like the Pantech Duo and the Matrix as well as simple handsets like the Breeze and the C150. On the other hand, the Pantech C630 looks basic from its look but has advanced highlights like some multimedia features, GPS, and 3G support. It costs $39 with two-year AT&T contract. You will find the charger jack and the volume rocker on the left spine, whereas the camera lens is on the back. The camera key and the micro-SD card slot sits on the right spine. The C630 overall has a dull design and lacks self-portrait mirror for camera. The call quality was average while testing, but suffered with a bit echo even on normal calls. If you need a basic phone with 3G support for AT&T, then the C630 remains an inexpensive option. The 1.76 inches LCD display has 176×220 pixels resolution that supports 262,000 colors. It exhibits vibrant images with vivid color despite of its small size. You can change  [...]

Nokia N85 review – sleeker and more solid than N95 & N96

thumbnail
The Nokia N85 costs $313.59 and has dual-slide design with sleeker and slimmer profile. It offers high-end advanced multimedia features and snappier performance like other N series smartphones including the Nokia N79, the N95 and the N96. You can say that it is sexier, slimmer and smaller version of the N96.It is noteworthy that most of the features of the N79 are quite similar to the N85. As said, the Nokia N85 is better than above three N series smartphones. The Nokia N96 and the N95 feels a bit plasticky and cheap, but this is not true for the N85. The navigation toggle can also be set as Navi Wheel by going to ToolsàSettingsàGeneralàNavi Wheel. After that, you can touch the toggle’s edges for scrolling through menus, zooming in and out, and so forth. 2.6 inches OMLED display of the Nokia N85 has 320×240 pixels resolution that supports 16.7 million colors. We really like this display as it pops up the Web pages, videos, and photos. However, it is a bit difficult to read under  [...]

We appreciate its advanced features like UMA support to make calls over Wi-Fi network, integrated GPS, 3G support and 2-megapixel camera. The Windows Mobile smartphone is a nice choice for T-Mobile customers. It offers simple user interface and gives a feel of regular cell phone. The smartphone looks quite attractive and eye-catching when it slowly transforms its body color. Travelocity Travel Phone – Beyond E-Tech K250

thumbnail
The dual SIM card phones are not a latest concept in the United States. They hardly come with any carrier, so you can purchase their unlocked versions like the Duet W002, the D8, and the 888 from Beyond E-Tech – Houston based importer. Now, the company has launched latest – Beyond E-Tech K250, also famous as Travelocity Travel Phone. It costs $179 for unlocked version and comes with U.K. based SIM card. However, its speakerphone and media features are totally unimpressive. Its keyboard is a bit cramped. The design of the Travelocity Travel Phone is a reminiscent of the Sony Ericsson Walkman W995a. It has similar navigation array, curved ends, and slider design. It is a surprise that it has Walkman like logo behind the battery cover. What’s more – the menu interface is quite similar to that of Sony Walkman mobile. As the Duet W002 was clean clone of the Apple iPhone, it seems that Travelocity Travel Phone is a clear reminiscent of the Sony Ericsson Walkman W995a.

The Motorola Renew W233 is made up completely with recycled plastics from water bottles and its packaging is 100% built using recycled material. However, it has few features and low-resolution display. The Renew W233 also lacks dedicated volume rocker and does not offer photo caller ID.
